310 Margarita is a typical stony Main belt asteroid.[1] It was discovered by the Fench astronomer Auguste Charlois on 16 May 1891 in Nice. This minor planet is orbiting the Sun at a distance of 2.76 AU with a period of 4.592 years and an orbital eccentricity of 0.113. The orbital plane is inclined at an angle of 3.17° to the plane of the ecliptic.[1]
Photometric observations of 310 Margarita made during 2010 showed a synodic rotation period of 12.069±0.001 h with a brightness variation of 0.15±0.02 in magnitude. This rotation rate is nearly Earth commensurable, making observations from widely different longitudes particularly useful when studying the light curve of this object.[2]
